Another journalist murdered by hired assassins

Tegucigalpa. April 23, 2012. In early hours of this day, the journalist Noel Valladares was murdered. The journalist was mortally attacked outside the television station in which he worked at, while driving a vehicle in company of his wife who resulted injured and two other companions who lost their lives.

According to preliminary versions of the police, the act was perpetuated from another vehicle, a Toyota Prado, in which several hooded men were driving. The men intercepted the car and immediately fired their guns causing the death of Valladares and two other people.

Nelly Pavón, wife of the deceased, was transferred to the Hospital Escuela, where she is being attended for the gun shots wounds she received in her legs as a result of the attack.

The assassination of Valladares adds to the long list of journalists killed under the same circumstance since Porfirio Lobo Sosa took power in January 2010. So far none of these crimes have been solved.
