Public tribune, Tegucigalpa.

Fellow comrades, countrymen and countrywomen

This first of May I want to congratulate you all for the massive demonstration that is commemorated around the country in this Labor Day. No one can deny that these mobilizations are true demonstrations "of strength of our working class."

Our presence in this demonstration and in this square is not a matter of chance or luck, our presence reflects the high degree of awareness and solidarity that we have developed for the working people of Honduras.

The working class in Honduras history has survived a state of exploitation and tragedy that has been subordinated during centuries of denial of its rights.

Workers, the apologists of money and profit in Honduras say that wealth is produced by capital, on the contrary, those who create development producing national wealth are the workers, and the workers are the thousands and thousands of women and men who with their workforce transform matter and give life to the development of nations. These thousands of workers for decades vilified and relegated to the category of simple goods by the "neoliberal" model-. I tell you that we are eighteen months from now to reverse this situation, if we stand and we are confident in our ability of an organized people in resistance and we are determined to the conquest of power.

In the organized strength of the working class, and in its thought, is where the seed of hope can change the wrong direction of our country.

We have to stop the unlimited greed of a small group of powerful people and certain unscrupulous politicians by their actions that offend national dignity. We have to stop those who led the military to break the constitutional order and the rule of law, that in turn increased violence, crime and poverty.

Those who stripped teachers and workers off their conquests, the same that are privatizing public services and do not mind the destruction of natural resources "waters, minerals, forests and seas", those who develop a war against citizens, murdering journalists, partisans and peasants in the Aguan, disrupting trade union organizations, we say we're going to stop them in the ballot boxes along with the people.

Honduras cannot be a nation that is a paradise for a few and a hell for many.

THIS TRAGEDY MUST END AND THIS PIÑATA AGAINST THE POOR HAVE THE DAYS COUNTED AND IS CLOSE TO AN END.
THIS NEOLIBERAL SYSTEM AND ITS DEFENDERS HAVE FAILED AND MUST BE REPLACED WITH URGENCY.
I PROPOSE TO REFOUND THE REPUBLIC OF HONDURAS WITH  DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM.
I PROPOSE TO CREATE A SYSTEM OF JUSTICE, INDEPENDENT OF THE DE FACTO POWERS AND I PROPOSE TO FORM A STATE WHERE PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY PREVAILS.
I PROPOSE TO ALL THOSE LAWS THAT ARE AGAINST EQUALITY OF OUR PEOPLE ARE REPEALED. Like the ones who affect teachers and workers.

Companions; this long night of neoliberal nightmare has come to an end because is a structural dispute and we do not accept talk about partial arrangements of relief through patches.

When we gain power we are going to convene the National Constituent Assembly.

Long live the Working Class!

Long live the Resistance!

We defeated them in the streets, and we will win at the polls!

Thank you very much
