Angola: MPLA party celebrates election victory

Luanda - Militants, sympathizers and friends of MPLA party have organized a promenade in the main Luanda streets to mark their win during the elections held on August, 31, 2012, announced Friday by National Electoral Commission (CNE).

The activity which is being coordinated by the party’s 2nd secretary of Luanda province, Jesuino Silva, is part of a joint initiative by municipal committee of Ingombota and those of Samba, Rangel and Cazenga districts.

The MPLA won 4,135,503 votes, corresponding to 71.84 percent.

With this victory the political organization holds 175, out of 220 seats at National Assembly (Parliament).
