Three Members of the Campesino Movement of San Manuel, Cortes Massacred

Blood is still running in the honduran agrosector, this time it was the turn of the peasants grouped in the Campesino Movement of San Manuel Cortes-MOCSAN-who since April 26, 2012 have attempted to recover about 3,000 acres of land, which are held by both the AZUNOSA sugar company and the Honduras Sugar Company, by the weight of their firearms while the National Agrarian Institute determines if it will expropriate a good strip of land from these companies that have exploited it without  legal permission.

The remains of a peasant farmer who had been disappeared since April 2012, were exhumed this Thursday by members  of the Fundación de Antropología Forense de Guatemala and national forensic medical examiners, from a clandestine grave discovered in the Paso Aguán farm in the Panamá community, municipality of Trujillo, Colón.

Murders of women in Honduras increase

The crime statistics show that this year the murders of women increased by 30 percent compared to the 512 reported in 2011, said Visitación Padilla, coordinator of the Committee of Women for Peace, . More than 480 females were killed through to August, but none of these cases was clarified by the prosecution, she added.
